Days' Cottages in Truro on 6A3.tif
These depression era cottages built along the shoreline on Route 6A in North Truro represent an image I've been wanting to capture for many years. I've passed by them on my way to and from Provincetown, another great place for pictures on the Cape, but never seemed to be there at the right time of day or season. For this winter shot, there isn't much traffic, so I was able to set up in the middle of the road and tinker for a bit until I framed the series of shots I wanted. Sun low in the sky, a 14mm lens and subsequent HDR post processing were key to capturing the essence of these historic little buildings. While each structure by itself is an interesting subject, seeing them side-by-side in this oblique view is what sold me on the shot.
